Today was our last day in Singapore, which somehow managed it feel so long and so short at the same time. We went to our last museum that day, which we happened to pass by on our very first day year. The museum was called the Red Dot, and featured all sorts of different human centered designs within technology and products. It was honestly my favorite museum, and I found every bit of it amazing and interesting. I love seeing how products have further and further evolved to care for every human need, and making our lives better in sometimes small ways. Respecting how new designs help take us into the future was not a way I usually think about things, but it was amazing being in a space where all sorts of designs are given credit for the impact they had on human lives. Sometimes a beautifully designed product can be so impactful on our lives that it goes unnoticed until it is gone. I really love how the Red Dot Museum reflected on that fact and celebrated culturally impactful products.
After the beautiful museum, we made our way to the Gardens at the Bay again for our farewell lunch. We got to eat inside the flower dome, which was beyond beautiful and amazing, and a wonderful last hurrah for the trip. The food was amazing and it was great just to sit and chat with my classmates for a while.
After lunch we got to explore the rest of the Flower Dome as well as the Cloud Dome. The Flower Dome was filled with flora from around the world, and I got to see some wild looking trees and plants I had never seen in real life. There was also a lot of sculptures within the plant areas, giving the whole scene like something out of a fairy tale. The Cloud Dome was even more magical, featuring a big indoor waterfall and a large mountain that visitors could go up to the top and climb down, seeing interesting plant life along the way. Despite how busy it was, the whole experience was peaceful and serene, and I found myself just getting lost in thought as I explored the domes. It was really a magical last activity for our Singapore trip.
